And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
NLT
Until our final breath, we’re on a journey. Our journey will have ups and downs. We’re going to stray from the path God wants us to take – we’re only human. We’re going to be tempted by the world. We’re going to be tempted by those who seem to be from God but who are really only after their own desires.
Wow! That got heavy fast.
My point: God started something good in you and is calling you to walk a certain path.
We can’t keep our eyes so fixed on the finale that we miss lessons along the way. Yes, our end goal is being with God in the afterlife. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t live.
I truly believe some detours are God-ordained. It may seem like we’re straying from the path He has laid before us, but when we make it to the other side, we’ll look back and see that He was with us the entire time.
Does this mean we actively live in sin? No. Does it mean it’s okay to let temptation take over our lives? No.
Will we sin? Probably. Will God forgive us if we repent? Absolutely.
Our job as a believer in God and His Son, Jesus, is to spread the Good News; to share the Gospel so others can know God too.
If we never step outside of our Christian bubble, how are others outside of the faith ever going to hear about God?
So, if you trust God, it’s time to step out in faith. He started a good work in you, and as long as you keep turning your eyes to Him, He will see you through all the way to the end.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, it can become difficult to keep my eyes fixed on You. It’s also difficult to do what You’ve called me to do if I never step away from our one-on-one relationship. Please help me to find balance: to remain seated firmly in You while also branching out and reaching other people for Your sake. Amen.

I’m seeing some possibly-conflicting parallels between this & ‘Peter’s walk to Jesus (on the water).

Hi, Harry! I completely understand your comment and concern and I think I might have not explained well enough! We are to not take our eyes off of Jesus or lose our faith in Him or His power. But we need to be careful to not close ourselves off from everything around us.
