Weekend Whispers :: Jeremiah 1:4-8

The LORD gave me this message: “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

“O Sovereign LORD,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!”

The LORD replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the LORD, have spoken!”

Jeremiah 1:4-8 NLT

All too often, the people around us will tear apart our dreams. They’ll even tear apart our callings if we allow it.

It’s not because they want to hurt us or ruin our dreams. More often than not, it comes from a place of concern. They see possible negative outcomes and try to keep us from getting hurt.

Their concern comes from a place of love.

I tell you, though, that God knows you and He has plans for you. Others might not see the whole picture. They can only see what they’ve experienced.

You are who God has called you to be!

If you are listening for His voice and following His lead, He won’t lead you astray. He will protect you every step of the way. You have to be willing to listen past the noise of this world and hear the still, small voice that speaks to you in the quiet moments.

No, you might not be called to be a prophet as Jeremiah was, but that doesn’t mean your calling isn’t valid. It simply means God has a unique story just for you!

Are you willing to listen and follow? Are you ready to be who you are?

How has God called you? How can I pray for you? Email me! Comment!
