Do you ever get so far into something, only to realize you’re in over your head, and you don’t know how to get out of it?
If you’ve ever been in over your head with no real way to get out, you’re not alone.
Sometimes, we get in over our heads by our own choices. We see something and think it’s our best option, our best escape. Only to realize down the road that it caught us in its snare.
Sometimes, others press us into situations and we capitulate for one reason or another. It gets to the point where we don’t even recognize which direction is up.
I’m not going to sit here and tell you how to easily get out of these situations. There really isn’t an ‘easy’ way, definitely not one way for all people. But I will tell you what, or rather Who, brought me out of the depths.
If you’ve watched any of my videos (here), you’ll know my faith is found in God and in His Son Jesus Christ.
I’ve always struggled with self-worth. I’ve always found myself lacking.
It’s when I surround myself in who God says I am that I am able to break through the crests of this life’s drowning waves.
I know that my life has been far easier than many of yours, and I can’t begin to imagine the tragedies you have suffered through. But what I do know is this:
God has never once left your side.
God has never let you live through your terrors alone.
God weeps for you in your brokenhearted moments.
God is chasing you, ready for you to find comfort in His arms.
Don’t get me wrong: believing in God doesn’t mean all the bad things go away. It doesn’t mean the waves go away. It doesn’t mean addictions are broken immediately, and it doesn’t mean punishment for the monsters right now.
What it means is hope. Hope that there is something better out there. Hope that there is One who loves you, every bit of you, without condition. He doesn’t need you to love Him back for Him to love you.
