Hope :: I Don’t Fit In

I’ve never been part of the ‘in’ crowd. I was never ‘normal’, or at least what everyone in my schools considered normal.

I’m sure I’m not the only one.

You don’t have to fit in.

I know being in middle and high school is extremely difficult, especially when you don’t fit into the ‘normal’ crowd.

A lot of times, even if we don’t agree with everyone, we have a habit of following everyone else just to fit in. We jump on the bandwagon just so we don’t cause waves.

Sadly, instead of just ‘fitting in’, we end up putting ourselves in uncomfortable situations or adopting societal norms that we don’t actually believe in.

Whatever your situation is, I want you to know that you matter.

Even if you don’t fit in, that’s okay.

You are who you are and you were made the way you are for a reason. Whatever your interests are, they exist for you to pursue a purpose.

When you have a passion, chase after it.

You might not fit in… but maybe you weren’t meant to fit in. Maybe you’re supposed to do more. Maybe you’re supposed to BE more.

Find a group of people who are supportive. This doesn’t always turn out to be your family.

I’m an author seeking publication. I found a friend in the literary world and that led to finding a group of published and unpublished authors in the Christian community. I also became part of the writing community on Twitter. It’s been amazing to find other authors to support and be supported by.

I may not fit in to most groups, but I found my group.

It takes time.

Believe in yourself.

If you need someone to support you right now, please feel free to reach out to me. I’m here for you.

Keep going, my friend. I may not personally know you, but you are loved and you matter.

Like, comment, share, and subscribe!!! 😊💙
