There’s a big difference between living within busy-ness and using busy-ness to avoid life.
I’ve done both.
Staying busy isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, I thrive on staying busy. Having multiple projects at the same time usually keeps me focused and motivates me to do a good job.
However, there have been times in my life where I over-schedule because I don’t feel like dealing with my emotions or reality.
This helps no one. And when I stay busy in those times, the busy-ness is what ends up making me crash and burn.
We can’t avoid life. We can’t pretend the hard stuff doesn’t happen.
Instead, what we have to do is face life head-on and work through our emotions.
Life is messy. You can’t run away from it. Neither can I.
Stay busy when it’s healthy. When it motivates you and drives you forward. Embrace the mess when it happens. Or, if it’s too painful to embrace, at least acknowledge it and realize it’s probably time for a break.
We’ll never enjoy the beauty of life fully if we never struggle with the bad.
You’ll get to the other side of the mess, I promise. Even if it doesn’t feel like you will right now. Just keep breathing and moving. You’ve got this!
