For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
In my videos, I talk a lot about how we are to look more and more like Jesus every day. I talk about how if we are in prayer and in the Word that makes it easier. But that isn’t all of it. As we read in the passage above, God’s Holy Spirit intertwines with our own when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
When we’ve got God’s Spirit attached to our own, it’s only natural to begin looking and acting more like Jesus.
It’s very easy to walk through life feeling alone and afraid. We start chasing our dreams, and obstacle comes up, and we close down out of fear. But that isn’t who God has called us to be.
Instead, He gave us His own Spirit so that we could step forward in faith, knowing that He is with us at all times. Life might not always be easy, but when we’ve got God on our side? There isn’t anything that can tear us apart.
Have you accepted Christ into your life? Will you allow the Holy Spirit to change you from the inside out?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please forgive me for allowing fear to hold me back from the life You have planned for me. Allow me to step forward in faith because I know You have only the best in mind. Help me to set aside any and all fear and walk the path you laid out before me with confidence. Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit to call me Your child and to walk beside me. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
